Josphat Mwangi appointed General Manager of Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia

Lusaka – Coca-Cola Beverages Africa has appointed Josphat Mwangi to the position of General Manager for its subsidiary, Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia.

Confirming the company’s commitment to developing leadership internally, Mwangi joins the Zambian team from Kenya, where he has been the Commercial Director since June 2020.

He has been with the company for just over 21 years, having held various senior positions in Finance as well as Sales and Marketing. He is credited with strong and consistent performance delivery in Kenya, one of CCBA’s largest and leading markets, as well as building a cohesive, committed, passionate and engaged team.

Mwangi loves to challenge himself with mountaineering feats that include summitting Mount Kenya, Kilimanjaro and Imja Tse in Nepal.

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa’s Chief Operating Officer, Gavin Hudson, congratulated Mwangi on his appointment and wished him every success in his new role.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Hugoh Ndudzo for standing in as Acting General Manager for the last couple of months and for ensuring continuity and a smooth transition during this time,” Hudson said.

Matthew Welz

General Counsel and Company Secretary, CCBA

Matthew joined us from the Clicks Group, a JSE Top-40 company, where he has been the Head of Legal and Company Secretary since 2016. In this role Matthew successfully navigated a highly regulated environment, including overseeing compliance with company laws and the JSE Listings Requirements. As company secretary, he managed governance at Board level as well as being the Chairman’s chief of staff. Prior to this, Matthew was a Legal Manager with Anglo American, a major multinational diversified mining group, which includes three companies listed on the JSE, with extensive operations across Southern Africa.
