Bottling industry veteran takes the reins at Coca-Cola Kwanza

Dar es Salaam – Coca-Cola system veteran David Chait has been appointed to lead the continued growth of Coca-Cola Kwanza, following a highly successful term at the helm of Coca-Cola Beverages Botswana.

Mr Chait joined a subsidiary of what is now Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) in 2007, taking on various roles within the Group Finance team, including serving as Finance Director in Tanzania for almost five years, before stepping into the CCBA Group Revenue Growth Manager role in 2017. He has driven growth as General Manager of Coca-Cola Beverages Botswana since January 2020.

Under his leadership the first Country Management Team was established in Botswana, which quickly notched up multiple successes. They achieved double digit volume and revenue growth over the past five years.

In 2023, Coca-Cola Beverages Botswana, a company in the CCBA Group, invested US$24m in a wastewater treatment plant and added a new production line, more than doubling capacity to produce 2L PET bottles and meet consumer demand.

The Botswana team won a Customer Service Excellence award for 2023 and a Quality and Safety Award for 2024.

Congratulating Chait on his appointment, CCBA Chief Operating Officer, Gavin Hudson, said it was another example of the company’s commitment to developing leadership talent from within.

“At CCBA, we invest in our people to foster an inclusive and thriving workplace that accelerates our growth,” said Hudson.

“We attract, develop and retain high-performing talent, empowering individuals to reach their full potential.

“A culture of growth inspires passion, impact and continuous learning.

“Through authenticity, empathy, and collaboration, we create an environment where everyone can succeed together as a team,” said Hudson.
