CCBU celebrates customer excellence at OCCD Sales Conference

Kampala, Uganda – Official Coca-Cola Distributors (OCCDs) contribute over 97% of Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU)’s  volume, remaining a critical link in the company’s ecosystem of ensuring cold Coca-Cola soft drinks are available across Uganda and a vital part of its success story.

To mark this year’s Customer Service Week, CCBU, a company in the Coca-Cola Beverages Africa group, hosted OCCDs at a Sales Conference that reaffirmed its customer-centric values, celebrated partnership excellence, and strengthened collaboration with key distributors across Uganda.

The conference served as a platform to celebrate shared wins, align on business priorities for the final quarter of the year, and deepen relationships with the customers who make it possible for CCBU’s brands to reach every corner of the country.

Speaking at the event, Emmy Hashakimana, General Manager of CCBU, emphasised that the company’s commitment to customer service excellence begins with empowering and listening to the partners who distribute and champion its products daily.

“Customer Service Week reminds us that exceptional service starts with our people and our partners. By engaging directly with our distributors, we gain valuable insights into their experiences and challenges, which allows us to co-create solutions that drive mutual growth. Our success is deeply connected to theirs,” he said.

The OCCD Sales Conference featured a series of interactive sessions focused on key strategic themes, including digital transformation, route-to-market excellence, and operational effectiveness. Through these discussions, CCBU leadership reiterated the company’s ongoing investment in data-driven decision-making and digital tools to enhance efficiency, product availability, and customer responsiveness across all regions.

Ellis Muhimbise, Sales Director at CCBU, encouraged distributors to continue embracing innovation, invest in business capitalisation, and uphold the highest standards of excellence in service delivery. He highlighted that these values are essential to achieving shared growth targets and maintaining the company’s leadership in Uganda’s beverage industry.

As part of the event, CCBU recognised and rewarded top-performing OCCDs who demonstrated outstanding results in capitalisation, numeric distribution, and volume growth throughout the year.

Hashakimana noted that the timing of the event, which coincided with Customer Service Week, carried special significance as it offered an opportunity to reflect on the value of every relationship within the business. He emphasised that distributors remain the heartbeat of CCBU’s route-to-market success, and that celebrating Customer Service Week also meant celebrating the people and partners who make that success possible.

Through continued collaboration with its distributors and customers, CCBU remains steadfast in its vision to refresh Uganda and create shared value.
