Coca-Cola celebrates Zambian culinary heritage with Food Festival in Lusaka

Lusaka, Zambia – Lusaka is set to experience the ‘Real Magic’ of shared culinary moments as Coca-Cola brings back the highly anticipated Coca-Cola Food Festival to Zambia. This immersive culinary experience will take place at the new Lusaka Showgrounds and is designed to showcase Zambia’s rich food heritage, bringing together renowned chefs, diverse culinary delights, and captivating live entertainment.

“This festival is a vibrant celebration of culinary heritage, music, and human connection, underscoring the belief that Real Magic comes to life through three key ingredients: the perfect moment, the perfect meal, and an ice-cold Coca-Cola,” stated Josphat Mwangi, General Manager for Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia, a company in the Coca-Cola Beverages Africa group.

The festival boasts an exceptional and expanded line-up of artists, featuring top names like Chef 187, Danny Kaya, and Chanda na Kay.

Diverse experiences are on offer, ranging from the Coca-Cola Food Festival Lounge, where festivalgoers will find social and photo-friendly areas with personalised merchandise; Craft with Coke, with beading, painting, and custom Coke art on offer; the Thrift Market, tapping into trends among Gen Z and Millennials; a Gaming Zone dedicated to high-energy entertainment; and the Schweppes Bar.

Recycling stations have been incorporated into this event to help reduce packaging waste.

Consumers can look forward to mouthwatering culinary excellence, including live cooking demos by VIP chefs and more than 25 food vendors featuring traditional Zambian dishes and global cuisines.

“The Coca-Cola Food Festival promises more than just delicious food; it’s a platform for creativity that harmonises local flavors with Coca-Cola’s beverages, offering a truly unique experience,” commented Faith Nehanda, Senior Manager Frontline Marketing for Coca-Cola Zambia and Namibia. “This festival offers consumers unforgettable experiences showcasing their favorites local dishes. It not only celebrates the rich culinary diversity of our region but also creates lasting memories,” Nehanda added.

The Coca-Cola Food Festival is a key local activation of Coca-Cola’s global “A Recipe for Magic” campaign. This initiative celebrates the profound power of shared meals to unite people, underscoring the belief that ordinary moments, whether a simple meal or a special occasion, are transformed into something magical when enjoyed together with an ice-cold Coca-Cola.

Tickets are K150 per adult and K100 per child. Tickets can be purchased from Shoprite. The first 1 000 consumers will get a free Coke.

Don’t miss this opportunity to create your own magical moments and be part of Lusaka’s most anticipated culinary celebration!
