Beira, Mozambique –Entrepreneurs in Beira have become the latest group of aspiring traders to develop their business skills and set up their enterprises for growth with the support of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) in Mozambique.
Following training in Nampula, where CCBA empowered 33 women and youth, the training programme has moved to Beira, where 40 women and youth have been trained.
The participants were provided with business starter kits, including an ice box and supplies of beverages, after graduating from the training programme provided by AIESEC, an international youth-run and led, not-for-profit organisation. The two full days of training, supported by CCBA, covered sales, planning and budgeting, and business modelling.
This group of entrepreneurs follows the recent cohort who completed the training programme in Matola-Gare and Nampula.
“At CCBA, we are committed to operating with integrity, creating shared value for our business and the communities we call home,” said general manager of CCBA in Mozambique, Duncan Wyness.
“Our business is centred on a local approach – we produce locally, distribute locally and where possible, source locally. Our aspiration is not only to reflect the diversity of the communities where we operate but also to lead and advocate for a better shared future.”
“People are at the centre of everything we do, from our employees to those who touch our business to the communities we call home. Community involvement allows us to bring positive, measurable change to both the communities in which we operate and to our business,” Wyness concluded.
